🎉 Father’s Day Celebrations
This Sunday, we celebrated Father’s Day and extend our heartfelt congratulations to all the incredible dads at Marple Golf Club. We especially want to applaud those who keep their children engaged in golf by funding group coaching and competitions such as the Cheshire Golf Sixes League. Your efforts provide healthy competition, foster friendships, and encourage outdoor activity away from their ipads and gaming consoles. Thank you for nurturing the next generation of golfers!
⛳ Manchester City Legends Golf Day
On Wednesday, June 12th, we hosted the Manchester City Legends Golf Day, and what a fantastic turnout it was! Our competitions were a hit, including “Beat the Pro” on the 6th hole. (Yes, I was beaten eight times!) A special shoutout to Colin & Dawn and their team for their efforts throughout the day and the visually pleasing evening meal spread. They have re-booked for next season thanks to our efforts and our Marketing Director, Simon McBride.
🏌️♂️ US Open 2024
In a thrilling showdown at the US Open at Pinehurst, Rory McIlroy's missed putts in the final holes opened the door for Bryson DeChambeau to seize the victory. DeChambeau's incredible 50-yard bunker shot to clutch the win showcased his trademark precision, ultimately securing his triumph and celebrating with spectators. He is doing golf the world of good at the moment with is online presence. McIlroy's near-miss highlighted the intense competition, making this year's US Open an unforgettable event.
🥩 Steak Night Success
Saturday, June 8th, was a pleasant night for steak lovers. The steak was superb, making up for the last one I missed due to being unwell. Hats off to the staff for their efforts and John for cooking a cracking steak! A special thanks to Mr & Mrs McPhee for the delightful company—it was a very pleasant evening indeed!
🏆 Nearest to the Pin Winners
Congratulations to our latest Nearest to the Pin winners! Simon Jeffs showcased his skill on the 17th hole last week, and this week’s accolade on the 5th hole in 2 goes to Gordan Mutch! Well done to both of you!
🌟 In Memory of Stuart Henderson
We are deeply saddened with the passing of our loyal, resilient and passionate friend, Stuart Henderson. Stuart was always ready to help and make life at the club easier. Known by our staff for his record of 2’s. Stuart’s dart-like tee shots were legendary. Even in ill health, his determination to get better was truly admirable. He will be dearly missed. Stuart uniquely used yellow and black Callaway Chrome Soft Truvis balls—if you find one, consider it a token of good luck!
